Not only this but after watching this video, the rumours began making rounds on the web about her alleged relationship with her co-star of TMKOC, Raj Anadkat who is playing the role of Tipendra Jethalal Gada urf Tapu, the son of Jethala Gada. The reports state that this video posted on 9th May 2021 using a casteist slur went viral on social media. She was caught on video using a casteist slur “Bhangi” which is unconstitutional and falls under the SC/ST act. This video was allegedly taken from one of her Youtube videos where she gave make-up tips to her fans and audience.

In the viral video, the actress used the word “bhangi”. This word is a derogatory remark for people who belong to the community of Valmiki. It took only a few minutes for this video to go viral like wildfire, and social media users began calling out Munmun for her insensitive and derogatory remark. The actress faced numerous backlash from the side of social media users and they even demanded an apology from her. Many organisations, including the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC), also took note of the incident and demanded strict action against the actress of TMKOC. Not only this, The NCSC even penned to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, asking them to take action against Munmun Datta. A few months after this controversy the rumours began making rounds about her alleged relationship with Raj Anadkat.
