The citizen of Punjab and the members of a party is currently mourning the demise of a politician. This late politician took his last breath at the age of 95 and leaves everyone in deep grief people are looking to know which late minister we are talking about and when he left the world and what is the nature of his death. The late minister identified as Parkash Singh Badal was the 5-time former Chief Minister of Punjab, India. He was the Akali Dal patriarch and he took his last breath on Tuesday, 25th April 2023 at the age of 95 in a private hospital based in Mohali.
Parkash Singh Badal’s Death Reason
The passing news of the late minister is officially confirmed and shared by the hospital itself. The statement from the side of the hospital states that “In spite of appropriate medical management S Parkash Singh Badal succumbed to his sickness. Fortis Hospital deeply condolences the demise of S Parkash Singh Badal.” Abhijeet Singh, the director of the hospital states that, Parkash Singh Badal was handed away at around 08:00 PM. He was admitted to Fortis Hospital in Mohali a week back after he complained of uneasiness or causing difficulty in breathing.
The entire social media is currently talking about him and paying tribute to him and remembering the late minister for his work. It is not easy to say goodbye to such a soul who gave his entire life to make better lives of others and that is why it is the saddest and toughest time to say goodbye to him. The veteran leader started his political career after working as a village sarpanch, prior to contesting assembly elections for the first time in the year 1957. At that time, he was 30 years old man and joined the party as a Congressman.
Apart from it, the late veteran politician was the youngest Cheif Minister to ever hold office in the state of Punjab. At that time he was 43 years old. In a career spanning over 70 years, he lost only 2 elections one in the year 1967 and the latest one in the year 2022. The loss was particularly acute as he lost his stronghold Lambi, which he fronted for many years. In further addition to his achievements, the state assembly passed the controversial Punjab Sutlej Yamuna Link Canal (Transfer of Proprietary Rights) Bill, in the year 2016. Not only common people but many leaders are paying tribute to him online and remembering his work. Prime Minister, Narendra Modi paid tributes to the former Chief Minister by calling him a “colossal figure of Indian politics.”
