Mumbai Police said the accused Armaan Iqbal Khatri was arrested by the police days after they recovered a suicide note purportedly written by Darshan Solanki. The 18-year-old Dalit student of IIT Bombay wrote in the note “Armaan Iqbal Khatri has killed me”, this note was recovered from Darshan Solanki’s hostel room. After finding the suicide note, Mumbai police filed a case under Section 306 of the IPC and relevant Sections of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Act, 1989.
