61 medals for the country and 7 medals for Delhi
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said today is a very proud day for Delhi. He respects his players. He said, we are not honoring him, he is honoring us by winning the medal. The whole country is proud of him. When a player brings home a medal, behind him is the struggle of many people in a family. In general wealth, the country got 61 medals and Delhi got 7 medals. Delhi’s population is 2 percent of the country’s population. But medals should be brought up to 10 percent. When our government is formed, it is seen that the players do not get full facilities. There is a lot of politics. Only eligible players were not aware of the scheme.
Games and Progress Schemes in Delhi
CM Kejriwal said that the Delhi government has rolled out the Play and Progress scheme. Schools are helping children by identifying their talents and helping them to progress. Also those players who struggle and make it to the top 8 are being given an annual support of Rs 16 lakh. He said, now there is a system in Delhi that the player who brings the medal will be given a cash prize. As it is being offered today. Politics is over in sports. Now neither Manish Sisodia nor I work on it. Sports University is taking care of the entire work.
