Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, presided over a meeting with the disaster management ministers of the states and Union territories that are expected to be affected by Cyclone “Biparjoy” to assess preparedness. Speaking about the storm’s preparations, Shah stated that all coastal areas where the cyclone’s effects would be most noticeable have comprehensive security measures in place to ensure that India is ready to face the storm. According to Shah, states that are planning to build nuclear power plants have been given stringent emergency procedures to adhere to.

“The Central Government and the States have made great progress in this area over the past nine years. There is no denying it. However, the number and intensity of calamities have increased, and their altered forms make us unsatisfied. We’ll need to prepare ahead more thoroughly,” Shah remarked. At 3 PM, Shah will also have a readiness meeting with Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and other authorities. According to the IMD DG, wind speeds in Gujarat during the landfall could reach as high as 125–135 km/h, with the potential to exceed 150 km/h.”On 15th June, the winds in Dwarka, Jamnagar, Kachchh, as well as Morbi districts of Gujarat, will be between 125-135 kmph and blowing to 150 kmph, it could have significant damaging potential,” the director of IMD stated.

This occurs as the storms approach the coast of Gujarat. Later, he will preside over a second meeting to assess the state of preparation for cyclone Biparjoy, which will include Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Members of Parliament from eight districts that are probably going to be impacted. Gujarat is preparing for the effects of the approaching cyclone Biparjoy after severe gusts and rough seas were reported in Dwarka. By the evening of June 15, the extremely powerful cyclonic storm Biparjoy, which was centred at 02:30 IST over the northeast and adjacent east central Arabian Sea and was situated roughly 290 km southwest of Porbandar and 360 km south-southwest of Jakhau Port, was expected to cross Saurashtra and Kutch close to Jakhau Port.
