After the introduction of new style buses, tourists can now around Manila through the Department of Tourism’s ‘Hop On, Hop Off’ bus tours after the program was launched in the nation’s capital on Thursday. It was known that the sightseeing tour aims to showcase the city’s heritage sites, museums, and more. The first HOHO tour was launched in Makati. The ‘Hop On, Hop Off’ stops in Manila and is described as the cultural hub or spot of Metro Manila. It will be Robinsons Manila, Raja Sulayman, Rizal Park, National Museum, Manila City Hall, Escolta Binondo, and Intramuros.

Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco stated that they aim to partner with the city of Manila in the people’s vision to ensure that this continues to be the cultural hub of Metro Manila. The statement was passed during the launch at the Kartilya Katipunan in Ermita, Manila. As for her part, Manila Mayor, Honey Lacuna said that there has been and will always be ready to accommodate and warmly receive their local and foreign visitors. Lacuna added that the visit to Manila will be a glimpse of what the Phillippines can actually offer. She added that this is the only reason why they encourage DOT to expand Manila for Hop On, Hop Off so that their city can positively contribute to the national economy and significantly to our own.

The project was thus, piloted in Makati City in late May in a bid to further revive the entire tourism sector. Frasco said that the HOHO program introduces the country’s tourism sector to the digital age as people can book their fun trips at their own comfort and convenience and purchase day tours or three-day passes through the mobile app. At the moment, Manila is in extreme shoulder-to-shoulder as well as with similar offerings of Hop On, Hop Off tours in other cities around the globe. It was known that the introductory price of the Manila Cultural Hub tour begins at 1,000 per person. Apart from Manila and Makati, the sightseeing bus tours will be brought to Taguig, Quezon City, San Juan, Pasig, and more.
