Ford Layoff 1250 Workers

Stellantis, the parent company of Chrysler, and Ford Motor said on Friday that they will temporarily lay off 1,250 workers as a result of the United Auto Workers strike. After announcing the layoff of 700 employees at two Indiana facilities on Friday, Stellantis said it now has 1,340 employees on temporary layoff in three states as a result of the four-week-old strike. Following the UAW walkouts at its Kentucky Truck Plant and Chicago Assembly Plant, Ford announced it is temporarily laying off an additional 550 employees. A gearbox plant in Ohio will lose around 300 people, four plants in Michigan will lose about 250, and 12 jobs in Chicago will also be eliminated, according to Ford. Ford has let go a total of 2,480 workers since the strike started on September 15.
