In the 1970s and 1980s, Kibbe was referred to as the “I-5 Strangler” due to his murderous activities of women along the Interstate 5 corridor that connected Sacramento and Stockton. At least seven women were raped and strangled by him, and he was notorious for chopping his victims’ clothes into strange designs.
