Who was Kobus de Wet?

Recently, it was reported that a senior manager for environment crime investigations at South African National Parks was stormed and killed by a hippo on Saturday while camping in the Kruger National Park. The Hippopotamus is a massive, semi-aquatic mammal with a mass of up to 2, 5 tonnes. The Hippopotamus is typically a sleek brown color to muddy brown, with purple hues which are often visible. A hippo is a massive animal and it measures 1500mm in height at the shoulder and is 4310-5160mm lengthy of which about 560mm tall. The eyes and nostrils allow the animal to see and breathe while otherwise submerged in the water. Knowingly, a hippo’s teeth are shown in yawning to warn potential competitors and are used for self-defense from each other or enemies. The Hippopotamus is strictly a vegetarian. They require a large amount of energy and therefore need a food source that is in rich supply. If they were carnivorous, there would be more competition for food, therefore requiring more energy to get it. Whereas on the other hand, the place or habitat where Hippos reside is the Kruger National Park which is a South African National Park and one of the largest game reserves in Africa which covers an area of 19,623 km in the provinces of Limpopo and northeastern South Africa. Reportedly, a senior manager for environmental crime investigations at South African National Parks was stormed and killed by a hippo on Saturday while camping in the Kruger National Park. Kobus De Wet was one of the senior managers in the environmental crime investigation in Pretoria. In a statement issued on Sunday, it was reported that the Park said the details of the incident were still sketchy and further investigation will continue. Moreover, the arrangements for De Wet’s memorial and funeral services are underway.
