IPL 2024: Rajasthan Royals (RR) Release 5 Players Before Auction

Rajasthan Royals (RR), who were runners-up in the IPL 2022, have the option to release up to five players before the IPL 2024 auction. Despite finishing fifth in the recently concluded IPL 2023 points table, RR missed out on qualifying for the playoffs due to the Mumbai Indians (MI) defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Wankhede Stadium. To compete successfully in IPL 2024, RR must establish consistency in their playing style and improve their ability to perform under pressure.

The six teams, including RR, who were unable to advance to the IPL playoffs in 2023, are likely disappointed in themselves. Team RR will shift focus towards preparing for the IPL 2024 Auction, having narrowly missed qualification for playoffs. Following an average 2023 season, we will be considering the potential release of five Rajasthan Royals players, due to their underperforming to strengthen the team for the upcoming tournament. We have shared the five contestants’ names below: Scroll up to read more in detail.

1. Riyan Parag– He is receiving five years of consistent support from the RR franchise, but failed to perform in the 2023 campaign. He managed to accumulate a mere 78 runs in seven innings, with a below-par average and a strike rate of 13.00 and 118.18. With a total of 54 IPL matches under his belt, he has scored a meager 600 runs.

2. KC Cariappa – He has been a regular participant in the IPL since 2015, although his bowling prowess has not garnered much attention in the competition. It is uncertain whether he will progress further in the game, especially with Rajasthan’s proficient spin attack.
