The #BMTforPresh campaign was introduced on March 19, 2021. The objective was simple and honorable: to gather enough money to pay for Precious Gaza’s bone marrow transplant procedure. Transparency and accountability were the two foundations upon which the campaign was built. Every donor was expected to be aware of the purpose and usage of their contribution. The response was tremendous. People of various ages and socioeconomic backgrounds willingly opened their wallets. The GoFundMe website helped raise a total of £53,400.00. On the domestic front, a staggering 33,000,000.00 was raised in naira. Precious had the support of the entire world, and the objective appeared within reach. Precious Gaza was the recipient of all donations made through the GoFundMe and Naira donation channels as of July 5, 2023. The money was given to the proper recipient with the understanding that the BMT surgery would be covered by it.
After the BMT’s successful fundraising effort, there was a growing sense of unease.
