Andrew Tate BBC interview

In a heated interview with the BBC, Andrew Tate denied encouraging misogyny and defended his reputation. He denied the accusations made against him by the BBC, which included specific claims of rape, human trafficking, and abusing women for which Romanian authorities are currently looking into him. The influencer responded that he was a “force for good” and that he was “acting under the instruction of God to do good things” when questioned about if his controversial views on women were harmful to young people. Since being released from police detention in Romania in April, this was Mr Tate’s first television interview with a major network.

Although Mr Tate has a sizable internet following and has frequently voiced his disdain for traditional media, his opinions have never been directly challenged before this interview. He agreed to our interview without any specific requirements. He denied the testimony of the specific women who have accused him of rape and exploitation and are a part of the ongoing investigation. Additionally, he called another woman who the BBC had earlier this year conducted an anonymous interview with as “imaginary” and claimed that the BBC had created her. The woman, who asked to remain anonymous and went by the name Sophie, claimed that she accompanied Mr Tate to Romania because she thought he was in love with her.

When asked about Sophie’s evidence, Mr Tate told the BBC: “By speaking to you, I’m doing you the favor of giving legacy media relevance. And I’m telling you right now about this Sophie, who was created by the BBC and has no face. She is unknown to anyone. I know.” Sophie is currently assisting Romanian investigators. I also brought up the worries of senior police officers, rights activists, and teachers about the impact of his ideas. These worries are expressed, among other things, in the words of the chief executive of Rape Crisis in England and Wales, who declared that she was “deeply concerned by the dangerous ideology of misogynistic rape culture that Mr Tate spreads.”
