Recently, LiAngelo Ball joined the Astros de Jalisco in the Mexican basketball league CIBACOPA to embark on a new chapter in his career after going undrafted in the 2018 NBA Draft. Despite, his brothers Lonzo and LaMelo Ball being two renowned personalities of the NBA, LiAngelo Ball went undrafted. But now, LiAngelo Ball who hails from California has joined Astros de Jalisco where he is shooting threes and playing defense. Unlike his brothers, LaMelo and Lonzo, who have established themselves in the NBA, LiAngelo Ball took an unconventional route when he and two other players were arrested in China in connection with a robbery incident.
However, LiAngelo was all set to play for UCLA Bruins but he was detained in China for allegedly stealing items from a Louis Vuitton outlet in Shanghai. As a result of the theft case against LiAngelo Ball was suspended from the school. Then he went on to join the Lithuanian team Prienai before joining the Junior Basketball Association. In 2018, he registered himself in NBA Draft but he was not signed by any franchise. In 2022, LiAngelo was signed by the Hornets for the 2022 NBA Summer League but later he was waived, leaving his desire to play in the NBA, unfulfilled. As a result of the theft charges against LiAngelo Ball, he was arrested in China alongside two other teammates.
