The Springboks suffered a downfall as they got defeated by the All Blacks at Mount Smart Stadium. Despite their best efforts, the South African team struggled to find their rhythm and execute their game plan effectively. However, they could stand out and only a few performances deserve recognition and appreciation amidst the disappointment. The player ratings for Springbok’s match against New Zealand are as follows.   1. Steven Kitshoff, with 7.5 as his overall performance was strong in the front row. He also provided stability and made some notable carries during the game.
  2. Bongi Mbonambi, with 6 as his overall performance was disappointing for the Springboks and Bongi did not display his trademark accuracy with his lineout throws but did make some valuable contributions in the loose.
  3. Frans Malherbe struggled to make a significant impact in open play as he held his own scrums without dominating and secured a 5.5 rating.
  4. Eben Etzebeth, despite losing his father a week before showed an act of great courage in taking to the field and managed to secure 6 ratings.
  5. Lood de Jager had a decent performance but his impact was somewhat limited which made his presence less interesting and he secured a rating of 6.
  6. Kwagga Smith was one of the Springbok’s standout performers who displayed his hard work throughout the match. He was a constant threat at the breakdown and made significant contributions in attack and secured a great 8 ratings.
  7. Franco Mostert was anonymous at times, despite putting in commendable shifts, and showed versatility by covering ground effectively, hence could not stand out and secured a 5 rating.
  8. Faf de Klerk displayed his trademark quick thinking but he found it difficult to control his tempo and got a 7.5 rating.
  9. Lukhanyo Am was a solid presence in midfield which made tackles count and provided some stability on the field and managed to gain a rating of 6.
  10. Willie Le Roux was one of the standout performers and gained a rating of 8.
