Moreover, there is no certainty when the youngster will be available for Team India as evidently, it takes longer to recover from dengue effects. At the moment, there are anticipations and uncertainty over Shubhman Gill being replaced by Sanju Samson, who found no place in the initial 15-member WC squad. Additionally, Shubhman Gill did not travel with the team and the BCCI said that he is currently under observation and medical treatment in Chennai. Reportedly, he caught symptoms before arrival and has not had any practice for the matches.

According to a BCCI statement, Shubman Gill will not be traveling with the team to Delhi on October 9, 2023. Moreover, he remains in the annals of Chennai as the BCCI Medical Team has not given the necessary clearance.
