Was Salt Lake City Nurse Arrested?
The Salt Lake Police officer who was fired from his job for his conduct is known as Jeff Payne and the nurse who was arrested after refusing to draw blood from a patient is known as Alex Wubbels. This incident happened on July 26, 2017, when Jeff asked Paighten who is a nurse at the University of Utah Hospital to draw blood from a patient to determine if he was intoxicated at the time of the accident or not. Jeff Payne was later fired for his conduct. Meanwhile, he sued the Salt Lake Police Department, saying he was obeying the orders given by the supervisor when he handcuffed the nurse. In the report that Jeff Payne filed over the incident, the man was taken to hospital for burn treatment after the accident which happened when a person was fleeing from police and collided with the patient’s tractor-trailer. However, the fleeing person lost his life in the crash.
Alex Wubbels who was arrested for not drawing the blood from the unconscious patient said she was also following the rules and the request made by the officer did not meet specific criteria.
