Who Is Rhiannon Fennell?

Recently, it was reported that a Seagulls woman left behind bleeding after an attack took place outside her house. As the woman was left bleeding following a seagull attack outside her house is warning people to watch out for nesting birds. On Thursday, a lady named Rhiannon Fennel hailing from Prestatyn, Denbighshire said that she felt a strike on the back of her head while walking to her shed. Reportedly, the woman was 69 years old and confirmed that the seagull knocked her down to the floor. She said that she thought it was a falling brick or a tile and afterwards she saw the bird flapping away. However, Ms. Fennell went back into her home to clean the wound on her scalp. Later, her neighbor, who was a retired nurse came to check her over and help clean the wound.

As per the reports, Ms. Fennell said that the birds have been nesting in chimney pots on her neighbor’s roofs for years but this is the first time she has been attacked. Since the incident, she admits that she felt a bit nervous about going outside. Moreover, she is urging others to be aware of the potential dangers. Jokingly, she said that it is not the chick’s fault as the chicks were leaving the nest and the parents are naturally protective. It is believed that all the species of gull are protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, which also makes it illegal to intentionally kill or destroy an active nest or its contents. Due to certain circumstances, it was stated that controlled measures may be necessary and licenses can be issued by Natural Resources Wales permitting nests or birds to be destroyed.

Once, Tony Williams has run a pest control business based in Barry, Vale of Glamorgan for 20 years and said they were not seagulls so much as urban gulls. Williams added that one can put up measures to prevent them from coming back once the nests have been vacated at the end of the breeding season. He added that gulls are seemingly clever animals and get more aggressive when the chick is hatched, also they are intelligent birds.
