The National Weather Service asserted that chances of the flood are above the normal mark this weekend and two coastal areas are under threat. According to the National Weather Service, the Lowcountry counties that are at risk of coastal flood this weekend are Coastal Colleton and Charleston counties. Reportedly, Coastal Colleton and Charleston counties will be under the coastal flood advisory this weekend. The risk on Saturday will be high from 8 pm to midnight. The risk would again be at its peak on Sunday evening and will be effective through the late night over the weekend. Meanwhile, a coastal flood watch will be in effect through the weekend. The National Weather Service said for Charleston County that a high tide might come at 10:30 pm on Saturday. In addition, a high rip current risk will also be in effect from Sunday morning to the evening. The national weather agency further added, “Saltwater inundation will be possible one to two hours before and after high tide,” As the risk of high tides and coastal flood, people of Charleston and Coastal Colleton Counties are advised to remain indoors over the weekend.
