Robert Oppenheimer, who was a well-known American scientist who also directed Los Alamos Laboratory at the time of World War 2.

Sources have revealed that the American scientist developed the atomic bomb. As per the reports, the hearing resulted in Oppenheimer’s clearance which was revoked. Because of that, his formal relationship ended with the US and it also raised a controversy about the treatment of Oppenheimer was fair. At the time of early 1943, Chevalier and his wife had dinner with Oppenheimer and his wife, Kitty at the residence of Oppenheimer. Then Chevalier mentioned a man whose name was George Eltenton as the man who was preparing the drinks. Eltenton used to work for the Shell Development Corporation and said that Chevalier has some great sources to share technical information with the Russians.

After that Oppenheimer made a distance from the situation. He claimed that he wanted no part in it and it also led Chevalier to drop the conversation. He didn’t quickly inform the United States security agents about the entire incident. And then he chose to not reveal the name of Chevalier to protect his friend from any situation. It also interpreted the lie because of the proof of the character gone flawed. The authorities of the US officially revoked Oppenheimer’s security clearance as it asserted that he had posed a security threat.

According to the reports, Chevalier suffered from the United States anti-communist movement. He lost his job at Berkeley and did not find any professorship in the US after the incident. Then he shifted to France and he started working as a translator till he passed away. he took his last breath at the age of 83 in Paris.
