Chandrayaan 3 Current Location Live

5 August 2023:

Chandrayaan-3 Mission: The spacecraft has covered about two-thirds of the distance to the moon. Lunar Orbit Injection (LOI) set for Aug 5, 2023, around 19:00 Hrs. IST.

Kindly note that India is not only the single country that could not successfully softly land on the Moon on the first attempt as both the Soviet Union and the United States also went through multiple spacecraft crashes before successfully landing on the Moon. But China is the only country to successfully land on the Moon in its first attempt. In 2013, China became the third country to land successfully with the Chang’e-3 Mission. India will only join the exclusive list of countries to successfully land on the Moon if Chandrayaan 3 passes several critical events ahead including earth-bound maneuvers, insertion into the lunar orbit, separation of the lander, a series of deboost maneuvers, and a power descent phase for a soft landing.
