H Venkateshwarlu dies in Hyderabad

On August 14, 2020, Prof. Venkateshwarlu Haripuram, a former Head of the Department of Commerce at Osmania University in Hyderabad, was appointed Vice Chancellor of the Central University of Kerala. Prof. H Venkateshwarulu, the vice-chancellor of the Central University of Kerala, departed on Saturday morning in Hyderabad. When he passed away, he was 63 years old. On August 14, 2020, Prof. Venkateshwarulu, a former head of the department of commerce at Osmania University in Hyderabad, was appointed vice chancellor of the Central University of Kerala. He demonstrated an uncompromising commitment to promoting an innovative, inclusive, and academically successful culture during his time there.

He was found unconscious in his official apartment on August 12. He then underwent cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and was transported quickly to a private hospital in Kanhangad, which was close. He was afterwards moved to Kannur’s Aster MIMS. He was eventually airlifted to Hyderabad to receive additional medical care. Regretfully, he died this morning due to a lack of response to the treatment. Prof. Venkateshwarlu worked 30 years at Osmania University before retiring in 2019 and taking on the job of VC at the Central University of Kerala on August 14, 2020. In 2010, the Andhra Pradesh government honoured him with the Best Teacher Award in recognition of his services.

The children of Prof. Venkateshwarlu and Sugunadevi Dasyam, Haripuram Keerthana and Haripuram Gautham Bhargava, survive him. The cremation will happen on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the GHMC Chandramati Aryan Smasana Vatika Cremation Land in Tarnaka, Hyderabad. Prof. Baiju, the VC in charge, announced that “the statutory officers of the Central University will be attending the funeral.” Renowned academic Venkateshwarlu Haripuram, also known as HV, was born in Vemulaghat hamlet in the old Medak region of Andhra Pradesh. He will be recognised for restoring peace to the campus during his time at the Central University of Kerala by effectively resolving the ongoing disputes between students and the administration that had tainted the previous administration’s term.
