Who Is Busisiwe Mkhwebane?
She is an advocate, ombudsman, and prosecutor. In addition, Busisiwe Mkhwebane is also the 4th Public Protector of South Africa. She served as the Public Protector of South Africa from 2016. She hails from Bethal, Mpumalanga (then Transvaal province) where she was born on Feb 2, 1970. Talking about her education, she studied at Mkhephula Secondary School where she completed her matrics in 1988, and later attended the University of the North (now the University of Limpopo) where she gained a degree in BProc and LLB. Busisiwe Mkhwebane gained a master’s degree in Business Leadership from the University of South Africa. Talking about her career, she was appointed as the Public Prosecutor and joined the Department of Justice in 1994. Thereafter, she became the Legal Administrative officer in the Internation Affairs Directorate. In 2009, Busisiwe Mkhwebane became the chief director of asylum seekers management. In October 2016, President Jacob Zuma appointed her as the Public Protector.
