Why was Kuldeep Yadav called in the dressing room despite winning the match?

Kuldeep Yadav proved once again that he is a big match winning bowler with his spin. Kuldeep Yadav got a chance to replace Yuzvendra Chahal in the Kolkata ODI and the player hit the Sri Lankan team with his spin. Kuldeep Yadav took 3 wickets with 51 runs in 10 overs. Kuldeep was awarded Player of the Match for this brilliant performance. After the match Kuldeep Yadav He had a conversation with Yuzvendra Chahal, the video of which has been posted on BCCI TV. Kuldeep Yadav revealed in this conversation that he was overheard in the dressing room.

Oh don’t be surprised, actually Kuldeep Yadav was told something in the dressing room for one of his shots on a free hit. Kuldeep Yadav told Chahal, ‘In the free hit I tried to cut the ball over the fielder but it went straight to the hands. I was told a lot in the dressing room for that and I will work on it now. I will try to perform well whenever I get a chance. When the KL brothers were together, no one thought of back-and-forth shots.

What was going on in Kuldeep Yadav’s mind?

Kuldeep Yadav said he didn’t have much planned for the Kolkata ODI. He said, ‘I did not plan much. Kolkata’s wicket is not very good for the spinners as the ball comes into the bat. But I tried to bowl a good length. Tried bowling from wicket to wicket. Throwing the ball in the middle of the wicket, trying to take the ball outside and inside. Acceleration and deceleration due to being in rhythm.

Kuldeep Yadav has changed his mindset

Kuldeep Yadav said, his mentality has changed now. He said, ‘Earlier I thought I have to take wickets, I have to perform well, but now I think I just have to keep bowling well. At least there is an attempt to foul the ball. When the batsman tries to play the shot, I try to take the wicket there. Kuldeep said Shanaka’s wicket was his favourite. He said, ‘Shanaka’s wicket was my favourite. Because he was in good form. There was constant discussion in team meetings about how to get the Sri Lankan captain out. Happy to get the wicket.

Chahal helps Kuldeep

Kuldeep said in the interview that Yuzvendra Chahal gave him tips before the match. Kuldeep Yadav said, ‘The tips you got before the match came in handy. I was coming straight from Test format to ODIs and you were consistently playing T20s and ODIs, so your advice came in handy.
