But suddenly some attackers started open fire at Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf Ahmed from point-blank range when Atiq Ahmed was talking to journalists. Reportedly, there were 2-3 unidentified attackers at the scene when dreaded gangsters were killed in front of the media. Gangster Atiq Ahmed was a former MP and MLA. His last words were “Nahi le gaye to nahi gaye” when he was asked about his son’s burial before being shot dead. The government has clamped CrPC Section 144 across the state and Rapid Action Force contingents have been deployed throughout Uttar Pradesh. The circumstances surrounding Atiq Ahmed’s killing were explained as he was taken to Motilal Nehru Hospital along with his brother for a routine checkup on Saturday at around 10:35 pm with high police security. Atiq Ahmed and his brother got off the police van and were heading toward the hospital while surrounded by dozens of police officers and media reporters. But suddenly a young man who on the left of Atiq Ahmed took out a pistol and fired a shot into his temple and another into the head. The gangster slumped to the ground.
