The name of this huge cruise is 'Ganga Vilas'.Along with the cruise, PM Modi will also inaugurate a 'tent city' on the banks of river Ganga in Varanasi. During the programme, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for several other inland waterway projects worth over Rs 1,000 crore.Ganga Luxury Cruise will start from Varanasi. This cruise will cover a distance of 3200 km from Varanasi to Dibrugarh and then to Bangladesh. It will be on the journey for 51 days.The specialty of this cruise is that it is made only in Varanasi. It has facilities like a five star hotel. About this cruise, PM Modi said that this initiative is a unique opportunity to connect with the country's cultural roots and discover the beautiful aspects of its diversity.The PMO said the cruiser has three decks and 18 suites and all are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. According to the PMO, the first journey has 32 tourists from Switzerland, who will stay on it for the entire duration of the journey.The PMO said the cruise is designed to showcase the best of the country to the world.Through the cruise, 50 tourist destinations can be visited, including world heritage sites, national parks, river ghats and major cities like Patna in Bihar, Sahebganj in Jharkhand, Kolkata in West Bengal, Dhaka in Bangladesh and Guwahati in Assam.This tour will give tourists an opportunity to experience the art, culture, history and spirituality of India and Bangladesh.According to the PMO, in line with the Prime Minister's efforts to promote river cruise tourism, this service will help tap the huge untapped potential of the sector and usher in a new era of tourism for India.The PMO said a 'tent city' has been set up in Varanasi on the banks of the Ganges to tap the tourism potential of the region.
