of Bihar Nawada The miscreants launched a hellish attack on the forest department team. Apart from this, miscreants also snatched the JCB seized during illegal excavation. The incident happened in Rajouli area of Nawada. Senior officials of the forest department informed the police. After that, the exercise to identify and arrest the accused has been intensified. It is reported that the incident happened after noon on Wednesday. The ranger and the forester were seriously injured. Meanwhile, other forest personnel were slightly injured.
DFO Sanjeev Ranjan said illegal mining was reported in Zora Simar and Khidkia Kala forests near Kumbhiatari village in Hardiya Panchayat area of Rajauli. On receiving this information, the forest department team reached the spot and chased the illegal diggers and seized their JCB. But as the party proceeded with the JCB, some armed men surrounded the party and took the ranger, forester and driver hostage and beat them up. At that time the accused also took away the seized JCB.
Many forest workers were injured
According to DFO Sanjeev Ranjan, the villagers were so angry against the forest department team and were ready to kill the forest personnel. He was also shouting loudly, kill him. DFO said, apart from leg and hand, the ranger and the forester also sustained serious injuries in many other parts of the body. Although his condition is alarming, he is not being sent out as his condition is critical. Instead, doctors are being called and treated in the office. He said that the driver was admitted to the sub-divisional hospital due to a fractured head. And the rest are receiving treatment in the office.
Police investigating the case
On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and started investigating the incident. The DFO said it has lots of pictures and videos of the incident. Based on these pictures and videos, mining mafia Vijay Singh, Somar Singh, Murari Saab and Mohan Saab have been identified. Somar Singh is seen inciting the villagers, beating the forest workers hostage and taking away the JCB. He said that all the evidence has been handed over to the police. On the other hand, the police said that many suspects involved in the incident are being questioned in custody.
