SpiceJet will operate twice-weekly flights between Shillong, the capital of the northeastern state of Meghalaya, and Delhi. Meghalaya Transport Corporation (MTC) officials said that an agreement was signed with SpiceJet on Saturday to operate these flights. Under this, SpiceJet will operate flights between Delhi and Shillong on Mondays and Fridays of the week.
It is expected to start in February
A statement issued by the Chief Minister’s office informed about this agreement. Accordingly, SpiceJet itself appealed to the Meghalaya government. This Agreement is governed by MTC’s Terms of Service SpiceJet flights are expected to start operating on the Delhi-Shillong route from February.
Earlier, a SpiceJet flight from Pune to Ahmedabad was scheduled to take place at 8 pm on Wednesday. The flight was delayed due to technical reasons, the company said. Passengers had to spend the night at the airport and the flight delay continued till 4:30 am. The flight, which took off at 8 pm, took off at 4:30 am on Thursday, eight and a half hours later than scheduled. However, the problems of passengers did not end here. This flight returned to the airport 10 minutes after take-off and the airlines had to cancel flight SG-1078.
Regarding the return of the flight after take-off, he said, “I think the flight failed to reach the correct altitude.” I felt the vibration twice. The flight returns to Pune airport within 7 to 10 minutes.
Regarding the incident, a SpiceJet spokesperson said that due to a technical glitch, the flight returned to the airport and its landing was normal. Passengers were informed about this at 4.30 pm, so that they could schedule their arrival at the airport. Most passengers were given the option of taking another flight the next day, while some opted for a full refund.
