A video from Sequoia Middle School went viral. In the video, a language arts teacher at Sequoia Middle School can be heard repeatedly using a racial slur in front of students. A student of Sequoia Middle School explained that they were reading a novel by Mark Twain when a student questioned the reached about the spelling of the N-word. The female student of Sequoia Middle School, said, “The teacher got in front of the class and she was saying that the word is just an English word and everybody can say it if she wants to, it’s in the dictionary, and people are oversensitive over the word,” requested not to be identified. She filmed the language arts teacher on her phone. The student further added, “I was just thinking, ‘Dang, this teacher is out of her mind as she was trying to force him to say the word and she repeatedly kept saying it and she had a smirk on her face” As per the student, her teacher used the word several times which is not acceptable at all.
