A white Ford ute was sighted by Gulfview Heights police on Nelson Road at 9.20 p.m. on Wednesday, June 14; further investigation showed the driver was wanted for alleged domestic offenses. Patrols made several attempts to stop the car, but it sped away from them, apparently traveling at 120 km/h in a 60 km/h zone. Police radioed in that the car had been last seen on McIntyre Road but chose not to follow it. Later, other patrols going north on Salisbury Plain’s Main North Road saw them. When PolAir arrived, they were able to find the automobile that was passing via Munno Para West.
Following the vehicle as it passed through Angle Vale, the driver got out of the truck at about 10:00 p.m. and hopped into a black Holden sedan before speeding away. The suspect was acquainted with Holden’s owner. Police allegedly found knuckle dusters, an expandable baton, a tiny quantity of an illegal narcotic, and other items when they searched the man. He faces charges of assault, unlicensed driving, disobeying a stop order for a moving vehicle, speeding, reckless driving, restraining law enforcement, and carrying a prohibited weapon. He will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today (Thursday) after being denied bail.
