The Indian cricket team will have to play the World Cup at home this year. There is a debate about the place of players in Team India in this World Cup, who will get a chance and who will not. But the biggest concern and question is star wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant will be fully fit for this tournament? Everyone is worried about the fitness of Rishabh Pant who was seriously injured in the road accident and the frustration of the Indian fans is likely to increase as the World Cup is far away, even this is all for Rishabh Pant’s return to the cricket field. Years, right now it seems difficult.
On 30 December 2022, while traveling from Delhi to Roorkee, Rishabh Pant’s car meets with a horrific accident. Pant was seriously injured in this accident. Although none of the injuries were life-threatening, there were numerous injuries to the knee and the rest of the leg, due to which it was decided that Pant would take time to return to the field. Recently, Pant’s knee ligament tear surgery was performed at Kokilaben Ambani Hospital in Mumbai, which gave some hope.
Operation again in 6 weeks
Now the latest update is that Pant will be operated again. According to a report by ESPN Cricinfo, the Indian wicketkeeper has three ligament tears in his leg, two of which have undergone surgery but one more surgery is pending. This surgery requires at least a 6 week wait.
According to the report, the latest information received by the BCCI about Pant’s condition states that he will be out of the field for at least 6 months.
More than half will be out for years
According to the report, all three of Pant’s vital ligaments were seriously injured, two of which have undergone surgery, but the third has yet to undergo surgery. These three ligaments are the most important for the movement of the feet and for giving them stability. Ligament injuries take a long time to recover from. Even after surgery procedures like physiotherapy are followed, which play a major role in rehabilitation.
Due to this, Panter is finding it difficult to play in any big tournament this year. Not only will he not be able to play the IPL 2023 season, the Asia Cup in September and then the ODI World Cup in October-November also seem out of his reach.
