Neelam Mohan, who holds a BA from Banaras Hindu University, married IIT-MBA professional Amit Mohan when she was just 21 and a Thai year student, reports The Weekend Leader.  Neelam said that she moved to Delhi with her husband after her studies.  In 1977, at the age of 22, he started working for a company called Kanye Fashion.  In 1978, she had to take a long leave while pregnant with her first child.

He started designing menswear as a freelancer while living in Delhi.Worked closely with UP Export Corporation.  At that time the salary was only three thousand rupees per month.  Then he thought of forming his own company.  Started working with friend Harminder Saldhi.  In 1983, Harminder and friend Sushil Kumar started a company called Opera House Pvt.  The turnover of the company in the first year is 15 lakhs.  which increased over the next few years.

He started designing menswear as a freelancer while living in Delhi.Worked closely with UP Export Corporation. At that time the salary was only three thousand rupees per month. Then he thought of forming his own company. Started working with friend Harminder Saldhi. In 1983, Harminder and friend Sushil Kumar started a company called Opera House Pvt. The turnover of the company in the first year is 15 lakhs. which increased over the next few years.

Separated from husband in 1991 due to personal reasons.  He also had to leave due to disagreements with the company's shareholders.  In 1993, he started his company with 4 tailors.  It was named Mongolia Blossom (Magnolia Blossom).  Bought a house which has been converted into a factory.  Built a factory where workers could work, eat, drink and sleep.

Separated from husband in 1991 due to personal reasons. He also had to leave due to disagreements with the company’s shareholders. In 1993, he started his company with 4 tailors. There was a phase in 2002 when the company was on the brink of bankruptcy.  His friend helped him overcome this crisis.  Not only this, son Siddharth, who returned from America after studying, helped his mother and stood by her every step.  Currently the total value of the company is Rs 130 crores.  Now his son Siddharth and daughter-in-law Pallavi help manage the company.
