National Cinema Day 2023
In honour of National Cinema Day on October 13, which falls on Thursday, the Multiplex Association of India (MAI) stated that moviegoers can catch the newest releases for a reasonable price. When premium and recliner forms are excluded, the tickets will start at only 99. On National Cinema Day, people can purchase discounted movie tickets online through services like BookMyShow and PayTM. All you have to do is choose the venue, your favourite film, and October 13 as the date. The films that are accessible for 99 cents on National Cinema Day are Jawan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, and Raniganj, starring Akshay Kumar.
There are also reduced prices on recent titles including Dhak Dhak, Thank You for Coming, and Fukrey 3. Additionally, a wide selection of films in English, Malayalam, and Japanese are available for a reasonable price. However, IMAX and 4DX are not included in the promotion. Additionally, the convenience fee and GST are not included in the $99 tickets. For the same fee, you can also go to your local theatres and purchase an offline ticket. National Cinema Day was first proposed by the Multiplex Association of India in 2022 to mark the reopening of movie theatres following the COVID-19 pandemic.
To help cinemas, which sustained considerable losses due to the epidemic, the association agreed to give significant discounts on movie tickets on National Cinema Day. The rivalry posed by OTT platforms was a further justification for the introduction of National Cinema Day. Over 4,000 screens at multiplexes in India, including PVR INOX, Cinepolis, Miraj, and Delite, have joined forces to celebrate National Cinema Day in 2023. The date of National Cinema Day has not yet been set by multiplex owners. Eventually, MAI decided to designate September 23 as National Cinema Day in 2022. However, the date for 2023 was decided upon as October 13. The tickets were priced at $75 less than they were the previous year.
