Lok Sabha Recently, the secretary was convicted in a case of attempted murder Lakshadweep Its MP Md. Faizal Disqualified. A Union Territory court convicted Faizal in a case of attempted murder. According to a notification issued on Friday, a sessions court in Kavaratti disqualified Faizal from membership of the Lok Sabha with effect from January 11, the date of his conviction.

This decision was taken under the provisions of Article 102 (1) (e) of the Constitution of India and Section 8 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951. It stated that Mohammed Faizal PP representing the Lakshadweep Parliamentary Constituency of the Union Territory of Lakshadweep was convicted under Article 102(1)(e) of the Constitution of India in Case No. 01/2017 of the Sessions Court of Lakshadweep, Kavaratti under the Representation of the People Act, 1951 Provisions and Section 8, disqualified him from membership of the Lok Sabha from the date of conviction i.e. January 11, 2023.Muhammad Faizal (1)

All the accused are relatives

A Lakshadweep court on Wednesday sentenced four people, including Faizal, to 10 years in prison after they were found guilty in a case of attempted murder. The Kavaratti Sessions Court also imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on each of the accused in the case of attempted murder of late Congress leader and former Union Minister PM Sayeed’s son-in-law Mohammad Salih. All the accused are related to each other.
