Sharad Yadav was 75 years old. He was admitted to a private hospital in Gurugram, where he breathed his last on January 12.

Fortis Memorial Research Institute issued a statement on Sharad Yadav’s death saying that Yadav was brought to the emergency ward unconscious. During the medical examination, his pulse was not taken or blood pressure recorded. All attempts at treatment failed. He was declared dead at 10:19 PM.
He was born on 1 July 1947 in Hoshangabad, Madhya Pradesh. He became a member of the Lok Sabha for the first time in 1974. He was a member of the Lok Sabha 7 times. He was also a Cabinet Minister at the Centre. After parting ways with the JDU in 2017, he formed his own party Loktantri Janata Dal in 2018. In 2020, he merged his party into RJD.
