But the new season has come with a new twist into the competition, the panelists will have the opportunity to save a singer from elimination, but the bell can only be rung three times during the first three rounds. The singers will then face off on a special episode in a battle to rejoin the competition. On Wednesday the bell was rung, and Mantis was saved. Now, he can go up against Medusa and Gargoyle in the wild-card round.
The Masked Singer season 9 episode 8 aired on Fox on April 6, 2023, at 8 pm. The Doll, who defeated Scorpio and Moose in the previous episode failed to move forward in the competition and was eliminated after just one performance. The song that he sang was ‘Don’t You’ by simple minds but unfortunately failed to impress the judges with his performance. The dancers were seen in the background who wore popcorn masks and costumes.
The moment they unmasked themselves, the fans were not shocked to see legendary rockstar Dee Snider. But interestingly, the judges were blown away by the revelation. Nicole guessed that the Doll was David LeeRoth and Ken had predicted that it was Austin Butler. Jenny had predicted that doll was Iggy Pop, while Robin said that it must be Gene Simmons. The Masked Singer fans very easily got to know them before the unmasking and were not surprised to see Snider underneath. Dee Snider was the lead singer of the popular 80s band Twisted Sister, which is known as ‘misfit dolls’ in his clues. The heart-shaped lollipop was a clue to his old song, Dead Hearts. Dee’s band has many platinum records. Hee once called other singers ‘domestic animals’ which hinted at a farmhouse filled with animals. The fans connected the dots and guessed the identity right.
