Dhami Cabinet meets on Joshimath disaster, expected to approve separate rehabilitation policy

The meeting held at the Secretariat in Dehradun is expected to approve a separate rehabilitation and relief package policy for the Joshimath disaster victims. The meeting is also expected to approve a proposal for a new city to resettle people displaced by the disaster. This city will be known as New Joshimath.

The rest of the Dhami cabinet ministers are already present at the secretariat. According to official sources, the cabinet meeting has also started with the necessary formalities. It is said that Joshimath is a disaster affected area and the affected people are being evacuated from there. So far 90 families have been shifted to nearby safer places. At the same time, about the same number of families have been asked to vacate the premises.
1.5 lakh as interim relief of Rs
As soon as he reached Joshimath, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced an interim amount of Rs 1.5 lakh. According to this announcement, distribution of interim relief has been started immediately. Although no one’s house has been demolished yet, houses are being evacuated as needed.
