Marxist Communist Party (CPI) and Congress Both parties announced this on Friday Tripura to enter Assembly elections Together we will fight. The announcement was made after a meeting between Congress general secretary Ajay Kumar and CPI(M) state secretary Jitendra Chaudhary in the evening. The meeting held at the state headquarters of the CPI(M) was also attended by Left Front convener Narayan Kar.
A Congress party will hold talks with the state secretary of the CPI(M) to formulate a strategy and finalize the number of seats, Kumar said after the meeting. We will fight assembly elections together. On the other hand, Chowdhury said that people want the end of BJP’s rule, in such a situation we have decided to contest the elections together respecting the will of the people.
TMC’s sarcasm on Communist Party-Congress alliance
Trinamool Congress criticized the alliance of CPIM and Congress. TMC MP Sushmita Dev said that “the alliance has to work on the ground” and reminded the opposition that the CPI(M)-Congress alliance had also failed to open its account in the 2021 West Bengal assembly elections. For any coalition to be successful, it must work among the activist supporters of the respective partners, not just the minds of the leaders trying to win power.”
TMC must go alone in Tripura
The TMC, which is trying to establish its roots in Tripura, has already made it clear that it has no ties with any alliance in the state where its arch-rival CPI(M) is based. The TMC MP said, “The party leadership is in the process of finalizing our election strategy for Tripura.” The CPIM ruled West Bengal for 34 years but faced defeat at the hands of the TMC in 2011. Since then, the Communist Party has not bounced back and lost the opposition tag and is now the main opposition party in West Bengal.
