Let’s learn a little bit more about the movie first. Rajesh Ganguly wrote the story for the 2023 period action thriller Chengiz, which he also co-wrote and directed with Neeraj Pandey. Jeet, Gopal Madnani, and Amit Jumrani are the producers. Starring in it are Shataf Figar, Rohit Roy, Sushmita Chatterjee, and Jeet. Stunt Silva was responsible for designing the action scenes. On April 21, 2023, Bengali and its Hindi dub versions of Chengiz were both theatrically released in India. It is the first Bengali movie to be simultaneously released in Bengali and Hindi. Jaidev Singh kills Rashid Khan in 1976 to get revenge for the deaths of his parents. At the age of 16, he enters the underworld of Calcutta and begins working for the notorious mobster Omar Khalid, also known by the pseudonym Nalli Bhai, while also changing his name to Chengiz.

After collaborating with Nalli Bhai, Chengiz begins to build his own criminal enterprise spanning Bengal, UP, and Bihar. However, when he must deal with his maternal uncle ACP Samir Sinha, who has been assigned to shut down Chengiz’s criminal enterprise, his life takes an unexpected turn. Three original songs, “Widda,” “Ebhabe Ke Daake,” and “Ragada,” all written by Aneek Dhar and Kaushik-Guddu, make up the soundtrack. Pranjal Das and Prosen are responsible for the lyrics. The movie’s official Bengali teaser was published on November 30, 2022. The movie’s official Hindi teaser was released on March 23, 2023. On April 3, 2023, the movie’s official Bengali and Hindi trailer was published.
Chengiz made a net total of between 0.35 crore (US$44,000) and 0.37 crore (US$46,000) on its first day of release. The Hindi-dubbed version of the movie made its theatrical debut in more than 800 theatres all over India, grossing 0.10 crore (US$13,000) on its opening day. In its first week in India, Chengiz brought in a total of 0.74 crores (US$93,000) (gross) from national multiplex chains. And on its tenth day, Chengiz may bring in 0.14 Cr. in India net. And it was expected that movie is going to do better in the coming days.
