The 26-year-old KwaNongidi, KwaZulu-Natal, commercial photographer fell in love with photography at a young age. He claimed that as a child, he was surrounded by stunning natural scenery and a diverse cultural background. He began playing with a simple camera when he was a teenager. He would photograph the surroundings and individuals at the time. Later, he improved his abilities and began to discover the potential of visual storytelling. He said, “I realized photography had become a crucial part of who I am. The adventure went on, and in 2022 he enrolled in the Tshwane University of Technology to study photography.
There, I honed my technical abilities, learned about many genres and techniques, and expanded my knowledge of photography’s creative and expressive facets. The more I discovered, the more I loved photography, and the more determined I was to apply what I had learned to change the world,” he stated. Mjaji, who founded his photography business, Innovative Photography, in 2021, claimed that the concept for the image of his niece first came to him as he was organizing his “My Footprint” project.
