According to local people, the incident has come to light in the village adjacent to Tehri lake through which the Chamba tunnel passes. More than two dozen families have been affected in these incidents. In view of the dangerous situation, the people demanded timely necessary measures from the local administration and government. Here too people blamed the Chambal Tunnel for the cracks in the houses. He said that such problems have arisen after the construction of the 440-meter long tunnel built under the All Weather Project.
The issue came up in the survey
According to local people, cracks started to appear in the houses during the formation of Chambal. A survey has also been done on this. Even after knowing the results of the survey, the government did not take any action. Deepak Tiwari, a local resident, says that in view of the situation, he has been forced to leave his place and live on rent. If the government’s apathy continues like this, this place will also become the next Joshimath.
Sewer blocked due to tunnel
Local people said their houses were just three to four meters away from the tunnel, with cracks appearing in their houses. Because of this, the sewage system has already stagnated. Because of this many houses have been repaired. But the danger remains the same.
