Hong Kong Typhoon Warning Signal Today: Tropical Storm Talim To Be Closest

Talim, which means ‘sharp’ in Tagalog, will pass within 300km south of Hong Kong at around midnight. From northeast to southeast, the storm’s wind direction is likely to change. The Observatory also warned that under the combined effect of the storm surge brought by the spring tide and Talim, there could be flooding in coastal low-lying areas on Monday. Only hours after the No 3 signal was raised, Hongkongers were already feeling the effects of the approaching tropical storm. Two of Monday’s flights between the city and Haikou had been canceled, said Hong Kong Airlines.
